Angela Jones-Reus
Internationally acclaimed flutist, Angela Jones-Reus, is recognized for her multi-faceted career as soloist, chamber artist, orchestral player and teacher. She began studying the flute at age 12. Ms. Jones earned a Bachelor of Music degree at the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Master of Music at the Juilliard School. Following her Juilliard studies she went to Italy as the sole recipient of the coveted Fulbright-Hayes Scholarship in music.
In 1991, Ms. Jones won the Principal Flute position in the Stuttgart Philharmonic, Germany, where she played until 2000. She has performed extensively throughout Europe, the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States and South America and can be heard on recordings on over 12 labels including EMI Classics, ECM Records, Koch International and Naxos.
Ms. Jones-Reus is currently Professor of Flute at the University of Georgia and performs as a regular guest with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra (since 1999). Her many appearances with Berlin Philharmonic include 7 Carnegie Hall performances and concerts in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, London, Festspielhaus, Salzburg, Philharmonie, Berlin, Symphony Hall, Chicago and Konzerthaus in Lucerne.
Angela Jones-Reus is the Principal Flutist of the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra and is internationally active as soloist, chamber musician and teacher.
